What you should know about Buying a Mini Cooper
If you buy a Mini Cooper, you will have a big smile on your face whenever you drive your car. There is no other car available that is a fun to drive as the Mini. Even in the parking lot it is a fun car, because many people ask you about your car.
I am a believer in the used car market. Normally a used car is a much better value than a new car. When my wife decided to buy a Mini Cooper, we looked at used cars for quite some time. When we looked at the very high prices of used Minis compared to the new prices, the only thing that made sense was to buy a new car.
I don't know if some dealers are asking over sticker price, but the dealer that we bought from charges sticker price. Some of the used Minis that we found with 50,000 miles on them were priced within one or two thousand dollars of new sticker price.
My recommendation is to spend the extra money for the "S". If you drive a standard, the 6 speed is a must. The power of the supercharged Mini will make you smile every time you take off. The John Cooper Works package is awesome in the power department, but is more for competition racing. The ride is quite a bit harsher, and the transmission and clutch don't operate as smoothly.
Go find the Mini that puts a smile on your face, and lets motor!
