What to get for the Woman who has everything

From 3arf

Everybody knows one, the woman who has successfully launched her own business or etched a place for herself in the world, and now, deservedly so, when she wants something, she simply gets it for herself.  Or perhaps, she is the pampered wife or she has inherited money and wants for nothing. One way or another she is the woman that has it all, but a woman people love and still want to gift to.  What does a person do when they can't top the things she already surrounds herself with, but they want to make a show of holiday warmth and giving?  Below are a few ideas.

Giving to the woman who has everything is definitely easier for those close to her, even if they have much less.  Family members, co-workers and friends are more likely to know if she has cats or poodles or a parakeet, what type of music she likes, if she has time to read, or if she doesn't like to (a book is a great book for people who have everything, if you know their tastes, as well as music, especially on vinyl.)  If the gifter has more money allotted to spend on her than less, certainly leather gloves or a cashmere shawl in her color are not out of order, but even more creativity could be invested.  She probably has a drawer full of the first and three of the second.

Some cities and towns have art fairs every month or every weekend. These towns showcase local artists who are dying for a commission and a chance to hang their work on someone's wall. If the woman who has everything does not have a portrait of herself in oils or acrylic, or even pastels, an enterprising person could take her photo and question a proven portrait artist as to how much such a thing would cost. The price might be surprisingly low.  Exquisite original works of art are always available on ebay for under twenty dollars, sometimes well under ten.  Read the listing well to make sure of the size, make sure it's not a print, contact the artist if you want, they are usually more than happy to answer, and finally, take in to consideration her tastes and decor.

People who have everything rediscover the value of home-made gifts, if they have ever been forgotten.  Writing on a white mug with sharpie permanent markers and then baking at 350 degrees for thirty minutes is one of the easiest home made gifts ever.  Sewing an imperfect teddy bear is also endearing.  And maybe the woman who has everything has everything but the time to cook.  A tin full of fudge or brownies or even something healthy might be greatly appreciated.

Many people make the mistake of thinking the man or woman with anything doesn't need anything else.  Everyone likes scratch-offs.  If someone showed up with a couple of Mountain Dews and a handfull of scratch offs, "so the woman with everything could have everything else" she would know she wasn't forgotten.
