Ways of saying thanks to Office Colleagues

From 3arf

There is nothing better to advance your career than knowing how to say thank you to others. You will never go all the way in your career by yourself and you will never do anything without the help of others at some point. Do you want others to continue to help you out, or do you want to be isolated and thought of as a jerk? If you are smart you will want to say thank you and make sure people are there to help in the future.

So how do you say thank you to people in the office? The easiest way is to simply say thank you to those who are helping you out. You have no idea how effective a simple thank you can be to people. I have had so many people grumble the whole shift about having to stay late or do some other favor, but they will perk right up as soon as you say thank you. Direct can be the best way sometimes.

Another great way to say thank you is through money and the incentive of making more money for doing favors at work. This includes staying late, coming in on weekends or working past the typical 40 hours a week. Money in any amount is a motivating factor when it comes to thanking someone for doing extra work and staying later.

What about taking your co-workers out to lunch, or having an office party? The company I work for has cookouts and other events as a way to say thank you for being committed to community and company goals during certain times of the year. It is usually a reward for actively helping out charitable causes throughout the year.

You could always say thank you by offering a discount on goods sold, or offering up a hot tip on a sales lead or job opening. Nothing says thank you like a good deal on whatever you are selling, or giving someone a leg up on their career path. This is a great way to say thank you and guarantee that there will be reciprocation in the future.

Saying thank you can be a direct thank you, or it could be an act that says thank you instead. Whatever shows appreciation toward others is going to be a great way of saying thank you and showing your appreciation towards others and what they have done for you in the past.
