Volunteering Ideas for Halloween
Across the world, Halloween is one of the biggest celebrated holidays. In most cases, this is one of the major holidays in which people go out at night to have some fun. Unfortunately, Halloween is the one holiday that can bring forth a lot of trouble from criminals wanting some sort of reason or excuse to go around causing havoc. As a result, there are many events and activities that require the use of able and hardworking volunteers. You have your common and uncommon means of volunteering during Halloween night.
The first way you can volunteer would be at some sort of church, community center, or some other public place in which they are having a Halloween event. You can help volunteer by taking charge of one of the events or festivities. You could also stand at one entrance to make sure that no troublemakers step inside; or, you can go and pass candy to the children that enter or leave.
The second way is volunteering at a local hospital, especially when there are children and pre-teens that need to stay in during Halloween night. For the children, you could be a performer, storyteller, or something else. Halloween is one of the holidays in which hospitals are in need for volunteers.
You could also volunteer for a community garden or an animal shelter. This is to keep potential vandals away. While Halloween is a time for people to go out and have fun, it unfortunately becomes a night in which criminals dress up and commit various crimes. Able volunteers are needed to keep that from happening.
In an election year, due to elections usually taking place early November, political campaigns become very active during the Halloween season. If you are working a political campaign, you are highly likely to be volunteering during Halloween. You could be volunteering at a Republican/GOP, Democratic, Libertarian, Green Party, or Socialist event party. These parties are great ways to bring constituents and voting bases together. You could be passing out pamphlets and so forth to all the guests. If food is going to be served, you could help out with catering.
You could organize or participate in a special crime-watch during Halloween. This is the one holiday in which people love to vandalize places. As a crime watcher, you can keep that from happening for the most part. Also, you can do your part and keep the pedophiles and other sex offenders away from would-be trick-or-treaters.
In addition to having a Halloween crime-watch, you can volunteer to take a group of children from one house to another for Halloween candy. That way, the children are protected from various deviants and bag snatchers. Plus, you would be able to keep the children away from houses occupied by known sex offenders.
If you have performing skills, you can volunteer your services for some Halloween night performance. You can sing, act, dance, put on a puppet show, or something different.
These are some of the ways that you can volunteer your services during Halloween.
