How to protect your vehicle from potential theft
There are many ways to keep your car from being stolen. Using the steering wheel lock so they can't drive your car away. There's a cheap and easy way to keep your car safe at a parking lot or wherever you may have parked your car. Now this doesn't stop people from breaking in, but it stops them from driving away. This simple method will keep your car in place at all times. Simply just remove the fuse that activates your Starter or something similar. That's it, a simple pulling out a fuse will stop any person from driving away with your car. This is extremely helpful to all of you out there with expensive cars like Corvette's, BMW's, Mercedes, etc.
I do this with my car all the time. Even though my car isn't as expensive or has a high value, I still do it because if I didn't have my car, how would I get to work? Pulling out a fuse is as easy as opening your door, If you don't know the location of your fuse box, simply lift up the hood (or where ever it may be) and you'll see a box named Fuses. Once you lift up the top of the box, the fuses should have labels on the side. If they don't look at the manual and find out which fuse does what. I must stress this that please use the same type of fuse you took out if it needs to be replaced. If you do not have the same type of fuse use a lower number fuse. With fuses you can always go lower, never higher. If you go higher there's a good chance your car will catch on fire. That is all you have to do, like I said it may not stop the person from breaking in, but it will stop them from driving away with your vehicle.
Here are a couple ways to prevent stuff from your car from being stolen. People with head units (cd players) should always take the face plate off when leaving their car. When you take the face plate off, there's no point in anyone ever wanting to take the head unit because the face plate is what controls the whole head unit. Without it, it's just a little empty space in your dash and won't catch any attention. Another thing that you should watch out for on your cars is the Catalattic Converter. Thats a little cylinder on your exhaust that's worth a pretty penny. Which is why thieves are going around stealing these off of cars. Main reason is you can get a few hundred dollars at the scrap yard for these. Catalattic Converters have traces of platinum and other high priced metals in them. Thieves went from stealing tires, airbags, and all those things to now stealing parts of your exhaust. Remember, it doesn't hurt to check once in awhile if thats still there.
