Unique Receptions
The wedding receptions that have always caught my eye, are the ones that made me feel like I belonged. Ever thought of that old fashion hayride. How about one from the church to the hall or barn as it may be. There is something to be said for anything old fashion. Forget those exspensive halls that cost hundreds of dollars and take your guest on a ride they will not forget! Set up a hayride to a barn reception with a big BBQ pit and all your favorites waiting to be devoured. Believe it or not but chandlers and fancy lights do not make your guest feel welcomed and relaxed. Quite the opposite really. Think about how many weddings you have attended where you were worried that you spilt something on that $300 dress you just bought or the tux you just rented. The fight you had getting your kids into those clothes that they will do anything to get out of! Did you really enjoy sitting there trying to be perfect all night? Probably not, if your like me give me that old fashion barn where I can kick loose and forget all my problems, and I am there. Think its just to old fashion and that all your friends will think your cheap, well think again. They would rather give you a nice gift instead of a cheap one, after they have had to pay for dresses with matching shoe's and tuxes that their husbands groaned about having to put on. Sure want that beautiful wedding well go for it have your glitz, but let your guest know that they need to throw some jeans in their car. Make sure there is a place at the barn for them all to change. In the old days the family use to decorate a stall for the couple to sleep in on their wedding night, with all the glitz of the Ritz! Well, you may not want to sleep their but set two up for the guys and for the gals and let them be themselves. Make it easy for them put some decorative bags in the stalls that they can use to throw their nice dresses and shoes in, and do not forget something they can write their name on it with. After all when the party is over they may need that name on their to remember who they are! The nice thing about this kind of a reception is a good local band will not cost as much as you think. Never know you might encourage a future marriage after a few of the guest sneek off for a role in the hay! Yes, that still happens these days.You will find that you and your guest will have twice the fun and triple the memories! Do you remember what sparked your flame? Weddings are where most relationships start. Where do you think the ideal for "Wedding Crashers", "Bridesmaids", and "Wedding Singer" came from. There have been some great movies made about loves that started at a wedding. Still kind of think the barn thing is a little lame for you, well think about some of those platinum weddings that take place in a vineyard. Do it, throw a little of the old fashion in with the Ritz and see what you get. A memory that will last a life time, and some really great pictures of your friends being as goofy and dorky as they really are all the time! After all the stress of planning a wedding and getting to the "I do", make sure that your reception is going to be an relaxing affair for you and your love. After all you just spent a year stressed and ready to pull your hair out or everyone elses. Throw bridezilla out and let your light and love shine for that one wonderful night, that will last from your life time to your kids life time!
