Tips for Ordering Flowers Successfully
Flowers make wonderful and meaningful gifts. However, ordering flowers can be a harrowing task that generally requires patience on the customer's part. Undoubtedly, many flower companies have a hefty list of orders to fill, and it can seem, at times, that you are not that company's first priority. The following tips will help you order flowers successfully so that this process can be as easy and headache-free as possible.
First, always ask your friends and family for references and resources. Chances are, you will know one or two people who use a company regularly. They might also have done all of the research for you. Do not be closed-minded to any suggestions that other people may have, however, even if you hear bad reviews about those companies.
Make a list of the prospective flower companies of your choice. A respectable flower company will generally have a user-friendly website that is verified by the Better Business Bureau, or some other organization. If you are unsure of the company's reputation, you may research the company further or you may move on to another choice. At any rate, once you are at the company's website, list the customer service phone number and look through the catalog. Do you find the styles that are suitable for your occasion? Are the prices reasonable? Are there any reviews?
Once you have garnered most of the information available to you, you can then look back at which companies have had positive reviews, either from people you know or from anonymous online reviewers. Now, you can choose the flower company that will service your needs.
When ordering a flower arrangement, always take down any catalog numbers or descriptions. Sometimes, the catalog numbers will vary, so you will have to name the arrangement itself. If it is a special order, or if it is an arrangement on sale, be sure to specify that. When you are more detailed with your order, you are helping yourself; the customer service representative will be able to help you further.
As you can see, it is always a good idea to order over the phone or, if the company has a physical address near you, to go to the store itself and order over the counter. While ordering online can be convenient, the online order may be lost or unverified. By speaking to an actual salesperson, you can ask any questions you may have. When you order at a store, you may also have a chance to see the arrangement in person.
When you finish making your order, be sure to ask for further relevant information, such as suggested/estimated delivery dates. Always ask the salesperson to read the order back to you. If you are not satisfied, say so. If you are, ask for the order confirmation number (or order number). Sometimes, you may be given a delivery tracking number.
As you can see, ordering flowers successfully takes a bit of time and patience. But, as long as you have the tools for the process, it should go smoothly.
