There are potentially many things on your YouTube account that can get you fired. It only takes one stupid indiscretion - perhaps under the influence of alcohol - to include something on your YouTube account that you will be later made to regret more than you can imagine.
A video in which you express an opinion which is controversial or in poor taste on YouTube could perhaps get you fired. This could incorporate anything from expressing a derogatory opinion about your boss or your company to expressing extreme political or social justice beliefs. It is said that the camera never lies and to appear therefore on YouTube in such a fashion is to ask for serious trouble.
Including videos on YouTube which are in very poor taste or even featuring illegalities could get you fired. This is of course also contrary to YouTube's terms and conditions and could potentially land you in ever more trouble. These item types would include such as inappropriate sexual acts, committing any form of criminal offence or being seen to endorse any form of illegal act or criminal activity.
Including such as a video of your workplace or work activities which breaches rules of confidentiality on your YouTube account could get you fired. This could in theory be done in all innocence without realising the significance of the indiscretion. This factor would also include where you or someone else is heard to be talking about matters of confidentiality or of a sensitive nature.
Including details on your YouTube account which includes such as extensive graphic violence or an excess of explicit language could in theory get you fired. This would be particularly the case where the individual worked in such as a public service industry or was in some highly visible position where they were known and recognised by members of the public.
YouTube is an excellent service provider and incorporates a lot of ways in which users can enjoy themselves, share genuine video clips with others and even make money in certain circumstances from the process. It should always be remembered, however, that YouTube is also a very popular site and anything which you include on it could easily be discovered by someone you would not wish to do so. There are therefore many reasons to be extremely careful of precisely what you post on YouTube and when and to give careful consideration to the potential dire consequences prior to doing so.
