The value of Career Fairs

From 3arf

The value of career fairs is seen in how the events are specifically designed for the precarious needs of the employer and a particular demographic group.  In our topsy-turvy economy, we are often bombarded with certain economic trends.  These trends occur as a result of the shifting demands of the workplace.  Whether those demands were warranted by the employer or bolstered by those economic trends, one thing is for certain:  A career fair brings together the employer and the prospective employee in a medium of exchange to meet the needs of the workplace.  Thus, to serve their primary purpose, career fairs are marketed to a particular demographic group or niche market in order to satisfy an employer's quota for new jobs.

Furthermore, career fairs would be worth their weight in gold if attendees would come to such events prepared to ask pertinent questions about the company they hope to join, and any relevant comments about their chosen career.  That's why researching the company's background to determine if there is an exact fit is very important.

Additionally, being prepared means attending such events dress for success.  It is taking the time to select the appropriate attire that would impress your would-be employer with your professionalism.  Wearing the appropriate attire to a career fair is a matter of taste.  For men, that would mean donning a suit that will give you that power-look; and for women, that would mean dressing in a manner that will fit your femininity.

Also, career fairs are very valuable to those job applicants who want to be educated as to the perks that a particular position may offer them.  These applicants will do well if they would do their homework before they grace a prospective employer with their presence.  Also, they may want to upgrade their curricula vitae before they commit themselves to their chosen workplaces.

Finally, career fairs have a variety of valuable offerings for the prospective employee who may be looking to not only join the company of his or her choice, but find that perfect match or fit.  That requires the job applicant to have enough resumes in hand to pass out to each and every employer he or she makes physical contact.  And be willing to discuss any ambiguities or things that are not clear during the interview.  The value of a career fair is only enhance by the credibility of those who attends such events.
