The new Concept of Teleworking

The new concept of teleworking.

Teleworking or telecommuting is a feasible idea for businesses as well as for entrepreneurs. It has gained popularity in both venues in the last few years. Here is an overview of how you can implement this in a business and how entrepreneurs can implement it.

In established businesses, teleworking works best where the emphasis is on completing work rather than on putting in a certain number of hours. The business would be wise to use it with responsible employees who will get the work done and who will put the business first. In fact, those who are chosen for teleworking should be the employees who are most trustworthy and who will actually use the opportunity to be more productive than less.

The thrust of teleworking is that the employee is allowed to work through the computer and other electronic communication devices from the location of their choice. Sometimes the place of business puts restrictions on the employee, requiring them to work from home and during certain hours. Usually this is not the case. The employee accomplishes the work. That's what counts.

For the employee, teleworking has many advantages. Some of them include being able to work whatever hours you prefer, not having to purchase an expensive wardrobe for the office, not having to pack a lunch or buy a lunch out, being able to free up a day for family events or business as long as work is accomplished on time, and being able to work at a time and in an environment that is best for you. I'm sure you can think of many more. In most cases, teleworking or telecommuting is working out very well. It has been found that those employees who are responsible enough for this type of arrangement tend to do more than less when left to their own schedule.

Another development out of this same idea is that entrepreneurs are developing teams of teleworkers. These are all individual entrepreneurs who are banding together to offer individual services to put together a bigger product. A good example of this is a writer, an editor, a graphic designer, a web site designer, and a printer/publisher all work together to offer writing and design services. Each of these entrepreneurs can live in any state or country. The only requirement seems to be that they all agree to meet certain time frames and all get the work done so they don't sabotage each other. In this example, they work together to produce a book and to market it. The writer writes it and sends it to the editor, and so on. In some cases, they never meet and never need to meet.

Work is changing, and the new concept of teleworking is one of the changes that seems to be working when the right people are involved.
