The best Iphone Apps for Thanksgiving
I hadn't thought of looking up "Thanksgiving" on my iPhone but decided to give it a look and WOW! There are quite a few, from random Thanksgiving facts, the History of Thanksgiving to jokes, many games and Thanksgiving recipes.
One application I downloaded is called "Thanksgiving Match" which had four and a half stars out of five and is a free game. This is a Thanksgiving themed matching game. I enjoyed it . . . and can see how I'd want to play numerous times to beat my old score. What I like the most about it is that it is a "quiet" game, which would be idea for children in the car, doctor's office or church. It is also a good memory game which is good for young and old alike!
Since I have hunters in my family, the next application I downloaded with another four and a half stars was "Turkey Calls". My son who is the hunter listened to the seven different calls and thought they were not loud enough and not completely realistic, so we'd probably only give it three stars. I am not sure how this would actually be used if it were not accurate accept for the fact it might help you to distinguish some turkey calls.
"Turkey Hunt" is a game app where turkeys are flying on the screen and using your finger, you shoot them. Each screen gets harder, more turkeys and faster. This is rated with three stars, and I could find myself getting bored of this however, the neat thing is not only is it free right now, but when you play the game your score goes into a world wide scoreboard, so if you are good at this type of game, you might actually see your name on it!
The app that I really liked is the "Thanksgiving Recipe" from FriendsEAT.com. It looks like it is a fairly new app and only has five reviews averaging 2.5 stars. It has a list of typical Thanksgiving recipes and new ones with some great ideas. However, you cannot search for more through this app, so at this time only thirty recipes are showing are what you can use. I will be watching for this to be updated with more recipes!
However, the app I can see being used the most and has four and a half stars and is one with the most downloads is "TGI Black Friday" which helps users view all the major retails store ads weeks before Black Friday and is updated often. It allows for the user to search for items, create a personal shopping cart to check off items as they are purchased, get exclusive on-line deals and coupons and get a sneak preview of the Black Friday specials. I find this a very useful app.
Of course, just doing a search on your iPhone could bring up new Thanksgiving themed apps each day. These were the five that I found most interesting today.
