Thanksgiving Turkey – Give thanks
Thanksgiving a day for us to sit down and give thanks for the things we have to be thankful for. Now I know that there are those people out there that will cry that the Thanksgiving turkey died for our enjoyment. While this is true that a turkey did die for you to cook and serve on a platter answer this question do you cry when a chicken is killed for you to enjoy at your local KFC? Our ancestors had to live off the land, there was no Fresh Market to go and get an organic turkey made from tofu. I am all for animal rights but I am also a man who enjoys my meat, we are by our very nature carnivours and therefore need meat to survive.
To the people who want to cry for all of the turkey's that died for our enjoyment is say pass me a drumstick and get over it. put your tree hugging agendas aside for one day of the year and enjoy the fact that God provided us this turkey to eat and enjoy on Thanksgiving. You never see a homeless person who will pass up a turkey leg because they don't agree with a turkey dying to provide them a meal. It sikens me that people whine in this country about a bird that there are plenty of being killed humanily I might add to provide dinner to people. So are we supposed to feed the homeless in our country vegetables and toufu for their meals.
Need I remind you that many of the homeless in this country are members of our military that have fought and defended this country to give us the chance to eat our turkey. It is because of these brave men and women that we are free to choose what we eat, so maybe instead of whining and bitching about the feeling of a turkey who never even knows what happened and is humanily killed maybe we should stop give thanks that we are free and instead thank a solider for defending our freedom.
I am all about eating healthy and all that jazz but at least once a year the turkey and me have a mutual meeting at the dinner table and Ielcome any tree hugging Democrat to sit down at my table and tell me with an honest argument why having a Thanksgiving with a turkey is such a horriable crime. I bet most of these people that want to sit around and cry for a dead turkey are the same ones that eat a fat juicy hamburger. In closing all I have to say is this Thanksgiving is a day for family and giving thanks, so pass me a drumstick and have a happy Thanksgiving.
