Thanksgiving Cooking Planning how to get Started

From 3arf

Start a Thanksgiving planner to organize your dinner and every thing will fall into place. It’s a special celebration and you want every thing to be perfect.

First thing to organize is your guest list. The modern family is often comprised of several family units. Keeping this in mind, your holiday festivities will center around many time frames.

Who is coming and when? Plan to accommodate your family and enjoy their company with a Wednesday evening supper for those who cannot come on Thanksgiving.

A Wednesday evening supper consist of a light meal like braised pork chops, grilled beefsteaks, or homemade lasagna. No one is spoiling his or her Thanksgiving appetite and every one is having fun.

Some folks like to come and visit early on Thanksgiving morning and have breakfast with you. Likewise, there are those who celebrate with you for dessert on Thanksgiving evening.

The next step in your Thanksgiving planner is the menus. Thanksgiving needs to be healthy foods and something that everyone will enjoy. While you may not savvy counting calories on Thanksgiving, you want to present a dieter friendly meal for those watching their waistlines.

Write a grocery list and check off anything in the pantry that you do not need to buy. Inventory your cookware and serving dishes. Do you have enough pie plates and platters? Are you going to use a linen tablecloth or buy a vinyl one with a holiday pattern?

Do you have enough seating for your guest at the dining table? Do you need any lap trays for those dining in the living room? A children’s table is an option when you have many youngsters to feed.

Once these things are organized, it makes the holiday a lot easier to enjoy. When to do grocery shopping is easy. The stores announce their holiday specials a week in advance.

When ordering online, preplan to receive you order by the first of the week or a few days earlier. Foods like a standing rib roast, fresh salmon, deer, and cage free turkey or duck will come to you frozen and require time for thawing.

For grocery store shopping, buy it now. Once the weekly sale ads come out, it will not get any cheaper. If you need it, get it while it is in stock. For any thing sold out, get a rain check and next delivery date.

Once you have your guest list, serving schedule, and food, the only thing left is cooking, eating and enjoying the Thanksgiving Holiday with your loved ones.
