Surveys Rip Offs – No

From 3arf

In my own experience with making money online, and I've been at this feat for about 6 years, I've been sadly disappointed. Working only part time, I decided I needed a bit of extra income and emails were coming to me on a consistent basis about doing surveys. Excited about the prospect of finding a small side job I did not need any training for, I set about filling out pages of information about myself and my family. That being a major task by itself since one must fill out 5 or 6 pages just to tell them about yourself, I felt more ready than ever to make some money. Upon completion of every detail of my life from how much we made each year to what time did we go to the bathroom each day, I thought I was ready to fill out any kind of survey they would throw at me, only to find out I did not qualify for most of them!

It seems to me that to qualify for making any real money filling out surveys, one must fall into the income bracket of upper middle class income. If you are the type of family that eats out often, you qualify! Or maybe the type of family that spends a lot of money on clothes, home improvement, cars, and just about anything else, you qualify!

Now wait a minute, if I fell into that income bracket, would I really be looking for a small side income doing mile long surveys for ten dollars apiece if I made fifty thousand or more a year? Suddenly, this whole thing makes absolutely no sense to me! Not to be daunted, I found a site I could pay a fee to and they would give you a listing of all the survey sites that would pay you to do the surveys. Alright, this might be worth it, so I paid my twenty dollars and spent a week filling out pages until I knew me better than anyone else! As I sat back and waited for the results, I was filled with anticipation picturing my Paypal account spilling over with funds. Upon checking, I found I had five dollars! OK, that's cool, I thought. A good beginning. So I kept on filling and kept on filling. And.... nothing! Where were all my big bucks? Oh yeah, the people I paid to give me a list of all the surveys I could do to make me money, that's who is making the money!

There are also other ways besides surveys, such as paid emails and points clubs. With paid emails you are paid an nth of a cent to click on emails they send you and you can eventually make a little money. With the points clubs, you can click on the emails and get points for them and even shop online through their site and earn points that you can then turn into gift cards. These are legit and you do eventually earn enough points to get a card, but it depends on how much you shop and what else you choose to do through the club. Some also have surveys you can do on the site as well and other things like joining different sites or trying products.

But pay bills with this, no way! At least not in my experience. If I'm going to spend as much time as it takes to do a survey, I'll stay right here on Helium and write a story. At least then, I may get a few cents and the satisfaction of a rating in the top ten!
