Survey Spot

From 3arf

Making money online isn’t easy.  In fact, it’s rather difficult to find any kind of money-making opportunity that pays a lot of money.  However, there are a few diamonds in the rough that will give you an opportunity to make a few extra dollars while you’re surfing the internet.  One of those is Survey Spot (www.surveyspot.com).

Survey Spot offers users a chance to fill out surveys in exchange for a reward of some variety.  When I first discovered Survey Spot several years ago, almost every completed survey was rewarded with $3.00.  It would take about 15 minutes to complete a survey and the $3.00 would be awarded to my account within a few days.

However, as the popularity of making money on the internet grew, the rewards began to shrink.  Before long, the only reward that was given by Survey Spot was an entry into monthly sweepstakes.  It wasn’t worth the time to fill out surveys without a guarantee of cash, so I stopped using the site.

I recently visited the site again and discovered that Survey Spot has made some changes.  They now offer points for some survey completions along with the sweepstakes entries for others.  One point is equal to $0.01 and many surveys are rewarded with anywhere from 100 – 1,000 points ($1.00-$10.00).  After completion of a point-rewarded survey, you’ll also receive entries into the daily

When you become a member of the site, you can choose to have Survey Spot email you when there is a survey available.  And they will email you a lot!  I get approximately 10 emails per day, with at least one or two that offer points.  If I responded to every survey invitation that offered points, I would probably make $5 per day.  That doesn’t sound like much, but it adds up quickly when all you’ve done is spent a few minutes per day with it.

So why does Survey Spot offer points for some surveys and only offer sweepstakes entries for others?  It depends on their customers, the market research firms that have created the surveys.  Survey Spot simply administers the collection of data.  There could be any number of reasons why Survey Spot offers a monetary reward.  Perhaps they need the data collected quickly.  Or their customers have requested that the respondents get paid.  Maybe Survey Spot was paid enough to pass that payment along to the respondents.

If you’re anything like me, you’ll probably avoid surveys that offer sweepstakes entries.  I don’t have a lot of time, so I only respond to cash surveys.  Any other extra time I have can be filled by writing for Helium!  Good luck with your survey opportunities at Survey Spot!
