Secret Tricks of Flight Attendants
The final three people boarding the Cathay Pacific airplane hurried through the plane door with their luggage, each one experiencing different emotions. One of them, a woman going on a business trip, was used to flying, and looked at it as an opportunity to relax before a new truckload of work came her way. The second one was a young man, who hated flying because it made him nauseated, but had to do it anyway to visit his fiance. The final passenger, a teeage girl, had mixed feelings, as she was excited about finally getting to travel on her own, but was nervous because of her not-so-small fear of heights. Although they all had different things on their mind, all these people had one thing in common: they were all about to be helped out by a flight attendant.
Flight attendantshave a lot of responsibilities, and it's their work that makes a flight run smoothly. Passengers rely on them for many different tasks, from helping them with their bags to bringing them warm meals. However, flight attendants are faced with a lot of pressure, and they've got a few tricks up their sleeves to make our plane ride as enjoyable as possible.
One thing that flight attendants sometimes do is double bag the coffee. They know that putting two bags of coffee grinds in the coffee maker adds more flavor to it, making it tastier and stronger, which helps wake up passengers when it's time to land.
Flight attendants may also warm empty mugs and plates before serving a food or drink in them. This is very considerant of the attendant, of course, as it helps keep the food warmer than if the plate was left cold.
They also try to stop people from becoming overly drunk, because they know that some people order more drinks than they can handle. When an already drunk passenger keeps ordering more drinks, they may fill the glass halfway or add water to it to make the drink weaker.
Flight attendants sometimes slide a blanket, pillow, or some other small item inside a bag so that it can fit more easily inside the overhead bin. They may also put a bag of coffee grounds in the bathroom to get rid if the bad smell, becuse the grounds actually soak up the odor.
Flight attendants have a very busy, often stressful job, but they've found ways to make things work as well as possible. This allows them to provide fliers with even better customer service and provide us with a great flying experience.
