Satisfied Employees Make Companies more Money
One of the primary goals of a company is to make as much money as possible. There are a variety of different paths or theories that management can employ in order to meet this goal. Some may be very structured whereas others are more “democratic” in nature based on the type of company and the mission of the company. One thing that most organizations agree upon is that employees that feel a sense of belonging are more likely to be productive and loyal to their employer. High levels of productivity lead to increased product sales, while employee loyalty reduces manpower shortages.
Full-time employees spend nearly as much time at work as they do at home. They are fully aware of the necessary to provide a comfortable standard of living for their families. The problem facing most employees today is the demands on them to do more with less. Factories are trimming costs by hiring fewer people, and expecting the same amount of product delivery. Workers are subject to more physical demands as well as psychological demands, which can lead to accidents that will cost the company more money. Fostering an atmosphere of family is a key prevention strategy that is psychologically nurturing to all employees. They are more likely to keep the shop running like a well oiled machine for the benefit of all.
A company with a strong team ethic puts out a set of expectations that the family should follow. For example, there may be an expectation that all employees use non-cursing language in order to foster mutual respect. The strategic objective is to have seasoned sibling employees impart these ideals onto the newer hires. The team will naturally hold each other accountable for their actions. Management will then have less directly supervision responsibility, and will instead function as the encouraging parent. Break-times are scheduled in groups of 10 or more to keep the family theme going throughout the day, and special celebrations are planned to create a sense of family tradition.
In short, employees who feel that they belong to their corporations and care about each other are more efficient. Management has more time to focus on output and logistics without being tied up in employee disputes. When carried out successfully companies make money while keeping their workers satisfied with their job.
