Romantically Proposing
Proposing to your girlfriend is a special occasion and most guys want to do it right. Many want to be romantic and surprise their girlfriend in a way that makes the moment the most memorable ever for their girl. Being romantic is easy. Being unique about your proposal both romantic and thoughful. In order to do both, you just have to understand and know what women want and can't resist.
Always ask your girlfriend's father and mother for her hand in marriage before even considering asking her. This may be old-fashioned, but it's traditional and respectful to the family. Grandparents can be included in this as well. The father especially should approve. Not only will you know that your presence in the family is welcome, but you'll also completely win over her father which is always a bonus! A lot of men don't think to do something so unique when romantically proposing, which will mean more to your girl.
After you've picked out the perfect engagement ring, have it engraved. Engraving is usually free at the store you purchased the ring from, but if they don't have engraving, take it to a place that does and pay about $20 extra for the wording. Say something like 'you'll always have my heart' or 'with this ring, I'll cherish you forever'. Think of something special that you and your girlfriend share and get creative on engraving. She'll love the unique idea that its not just any engagement ring...it's her own special engagement ring.
Plan where you're going to propose. Get everything ready ahead of time so that you don't have any mishaps. Enlist the help of a friend or her friends in the marriage proposal setting. Your girlfriend's friends will know her best and can help you put together something amazing for her. Plus, you'll gain brownie points with them for asking their help. You'll also feel less stressed because you have assistance in putting the proposal all together.
Include her favorite flowers. To add a romantic touch to the proposal, have a dozen of her favorite flowers or a hand-picked bouquet present. Many women love flowers and instantly feel romantic around them. If flowers aren't her thing, include something that is like a teddy bear, perfume, candy...etc. Make sure you know what she likes best and include it somewhere in the setting of your proposal. You could always be really creative and have the ring hidden somewhere in the special arrangement of flowers or on the ear of the teddy bear.
Be sure you two can be alone before proposing. A marriage proposition is a very personal and intimate thing. It should not be done in a crowded room unless your at a reception, family gathering, or her birthday party. Also, your girlfriend may not like the idea of being proposed to in a crowd so find out her preference first either from friends or asking months before hand. What is romantic to one girl, may not be to another, so be sure she wants all the attention before proposing at a family gathering or event reception.
Write her a letter of your feelings for her. Open the proposal by telling your girlfriend how much you love and need her in your life. Recite a poem for her, or if that's not your thing, just open your heart to her. Expressing your real feelings to her face is the most romantic thing a guy can do for his girlfriend. Then, get down on one knee and ask her to spend the rest of her life with you. She won't be able to resist saying 'yes'!
