Difficulties in returning items are usually one of the most commonest issues.  This especially happens if there is no receipt.  In the sometimes rush and euphoria of buying something, a receipt can be discarded at home.  Sometimes they end up being misplaced-and this can lead to problems later if one decides to return the item.  These can be very large issues, as people can become adamant over the refund of their cash.  Stores issue receipts for security reasons, for their benefit and for the customers.  Whether they are lost, misplaced or whatever, it can cause a lot of consternation with customers and clerks/management.  Additionally, there are issues of customers trying to return items past the receipt and warranty's due date.

Other common issues can be customers misinterpreting friendliness and some camaraderie with staff as something more, whether it is in a positive or negative vein for them.  Sometimes staff and customers can get too friendly with each other and negative consequences are the result.  These can become quite serious and even disrupt the work-cycle at the job site.  Lawsuits and even criminal charges have come as a result.  Office romances between staff members are quite common.  This too can lead to problems, as invariably the chemistry between two romantically intertwined co-workers can sour.  Or even cases of co-workers making lewd advances and sexually harassing each other can be quite common.

There are more mundane issues such as mispriced items, improper sales dates, typos in flyers and online, redeeming loyalty points and the such.  Most retail stores are usually part of larger chains and through so many customers, staff and all of the infinite transasctions, moving of the merchandise and the such.  Every customer rightfully demands excellent service and most retail stores bend over backwards to keep their customers.  But in the process, customers may feel cheated or even ripped off.  It can be very common to see an irate customer deal with managers and supervisors in a more profane way.  Disputes from receipts, warranties and everything else inbetween flare up in most establishments.

With staff, it can be theft, tardiness and even insubordination-these increasingly becoming more commonplace as issues in stores.  Businesses are a microcosm of our society and quite reflective of what happens as everything is centered around finances and the transaction of goods.
