Preparing for Job Interviews
If you have been to several job interviews and been unable to find a job yet, it is not going to be easy to muster up the confidence for the next one. Even if you haven't been to any, or not to very many, it's never easy to remain confident. After all, you are voluntarily allowing yourself to be judged by a person who doesn't know you and their judgement of you can make or break whether you are able to get this job or not. Those are the things that can hurt your confidence, but you really need to build it. Some of the ways that you can build your confidence are easier than you may think.
Start by listing some of your better attributes. Since you are listing them for yourself, you can list attributes that are important to the job you are interviewing for as well as other positive attributes that are just a part of you. Remember the ones that pertain to the job for your interview so that you have a ready answer to the inevitable question of "Why should we hire you?" By listing these positive qualities, you are boosting your confidence because you know that no matter what the outcome of the interview, you are still a worthwhile person.
Make sure that you look your best from head to toe. It can be difficult to be confident if you don't feel confident about the way you look. Wear clothes that are appropriate for where you will be interviewing. Make sure that you are comfortable, and wearing clothes that fit properly. Proper fit makes you more comfortable. If you are always having to adjust your clothing, you will not present a picture of confidence. Women will need to wear professional looking make-up and a hairstyle that is easy but professional in appearance. Men are best off wearing suits and ties to keep their look professional. Proper attire can really help to boost your confidence.
Remind yourself that you are the right person for the job. The interviewer is not going to think that you are the right person for the job if you do not think that you are the right person for the job. In order to show confidence, you are going to have to have confidence, even if you have to fool yourself into having confidence.
