Christmas Centerpiece

The desire for change every year on our decorating ideas promotes families to have more decorations than are needed to decorate their Christmas tree or their home. With a pedestal bowl, left over ornaments and a wreath you can make an attractive centerpiece for the holiday table.

Items

You will want to gather your choice of a pedestal bowl, and a wreath with a circumference close to the size of the base of pedestal. If there is a large size differential you can fill the difference with angel hair. You will want to gather the left over ornaments.

If you have some miniature ornament, these ornaments will add to the charm of the centerpiece. The miniature ornaments might be the only additional item necessary to purchase, but will add eye-catching appeal to the centerpiece. These items come in everyday items or traditional Christmas icons.

Preparation

You begin by placing a placemat in the center of the table you want to display the centerpiece. The wreath sits in the center of the placemat and the pedestal bowl sits in the middle of the wreath. If it fits within the wreath you might want to wrap the wreath is a 1/16th of an inch ribbon and run the ribbon up the pedestal to implement the color scheme on the wreath and pedestal bowl. If it needs filling in between the wreath and pedestal bowl, you can choose a colored angel hair or you can shake some colored confetti on the angel hair. Now it is time for the bowl and its ornaments.

The pedestal bowl needs the ornaments added. You choose ornaments with complimentary colors and sit into the bowl. You will need to have at least three ornaments. The miniature ornaments fill in the spots between the ornaments and catch the eyes of guests or family members. With these items added together, you have made your centerpiece and now might want to expand the table decor for the holiday meal.

Expansion

The expansion of the centerpiece beyond the center or for the meal could add to the meal. You might want to use the miniature ornaments as charms for the goblets a complementary runner might go down the table or colored streams of the ribbon curled. At a dollar store, there are frequently ornament candleholders. You might add candles in the color of the ornaments in the bowl.

The Christmas centerpiece can come from items in your decoration collection. With an idea for your color scheme, your Christmas decor appears polished.
