Perfect Proposal Maui Fiance Ocean View Necklace Family Mr right
Great Ways to Pop the Question
While the following tale is not my personal romance, it did happen to a very dear friend of mine. My boyfriend is wondering how he is ever going to even come close; I am sure he is going to use this as an excuse to avoid the whole ordeal!
My good friend...let's call her Ms. Right...has been with her fiance for just over 6 years now. For about 5.5 of those 6 years, she has made it quite obvious, with varying degrees of assertiveness, that she wants a ring! This girl wants to get married!
The nice thing is that she doesn't just want to get married, but she wants to marry him. That being said, after 6 years, her nagging had almost warn off and she had come to terms with the reality that he was just not going to propose.
On their 6th Christmas together, he bought her a necklace. It is gorgeous! Filled with gold and diamonds and, of course, shaped like a heart. She laughingly said to him something along the lines of "oh, you're a smart boy! You think this will buy you a few months grace?" To which he replied, "I think this will buy me a few years!"
Now, what I haven't told you yet is that they go to Maui each and every year with his family for Christmas. So, not only is she opening a diamond necklace for Christmas, but she is doing it from the comfort of her ocean view balcony.
Just a few days later, the happy couple is having drinks and appies on the beach with his family and friends. His mother asks them to stand up so that she can take their picture with the beautiful ocean view. So, up they get.
As she fixes her hair, down he gets. On one knee, that is. Opens up a little black box bulging with a 1+ carat platinum ring. The story as I heard it gets a bit blurry at this point. She was blinded by the ring and the reality that he was actually proposing, and he was hearing roaring in his ears that had more to do with nerves than the ocean backdrop. But, he asked, and she said yes, followed by much hugging, kissing and jumping around.
After a few good, breath-taking kisses, she realizes that her mother needs to know. Now. He agrees and tells her to go back to the hotel to call her. But, turn around first...
Standing right behind her, in Maui on the beach (in case you have forgotten), was her mother, father and brother. Not only had Mr. Right asked permission from the family, but he had also flown them out to Maui to witness the big event.
As she realized that all her dreams were coming true, and her mother was there to share it with her, there was more hugging, kissing, and jumping around.
As I said, this is not my proposal, but it sure seems to take the cake as far as "perfect" is concerned!
