Implications of the Average Cost of us Gasoline Rising again

From 3arf

U.S. Gas prices are on the rise, but little complaints about the problem are being aired on government-sympathetic media outlets. Still, many people are fuming as they now must choose between fueling their vehicle and feeding their family.

Obama likes $4 per gallon gas

Gasoline prices of more than $3 per gallon, may have caused some Americans to put on their thinking caps as they recall words spoken by Obama during the 2008 campaign saying that he likes the idea of $4 per gallon gas because it would force people to use less of it, making alternative energy sources more appealing (see Obama saying this in context at the Campaign Circus Web site http://campaigncircus.com/video_player.php?v=9793).

In fact, the only problem Obama said he has with skyrocketing gasoline prices is how quickly they have been increasing.

The Obama regime likes $4 per gallon gas

Even as it was being assembled on the eve of the inauguration, the Obama regime made it clear that it wants to see gasoline prices go through the roof. According to theLubbock Avalanche-JournalEnergy Secretary Steven Chu was quoted in December 2008 as saying that the Obama regime must “figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe,” laying the framework for today’s fuel crisis.

Artificially restricting the oil supply

Additional efforts to boost gasoline prices by the Obama regime continue to suggest that it has no interest in the impact gas prices are having on Americans. For example, in the aftermath of the famous BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, Obama halted all oil drilling by American companies while companies from other countries like China, Mexico and Brazil continued their business.

Months later when a federal judge ruled that the ban on drilling was unconstitutional, the regime responded by ignoring the decision. Even after being found in contempt of court as reported byBigGovernment.com, the regime continues to stifle efforts to increase the United States’ domestic oil supply.

The UK Guardian http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/blog/2009/oct/20/oil-shale-bush-administration-leases reported plans by the Obama regime that have recently taken effect to review oil shale leases, a move some suggest is designed to prevent Americans from accessing some of the largest oil reserves on the planet. In fact, some suggest that the United States has more oil under its control than Saudi Arabia has. In fact, the U.S. has enough to power the entire country for 50 years or more in the form of oil shale alone according toNext Energy News.  Knowing that the U.S. has abundant supplies of oil that would dramatically drive down gasoline prices, the Obama regime appears to actively oppose its use.

Implications of high gasoline prices

The implications of high gasoline prices are clear: as long as the United States is ruled by a regime that seems intent to make gasoline artificially expensive, Americans will be subject to outrageous prices, so they probably should either get used to it, or take action to elect a regime that is more responsive to the energy needs of American citizens.
