How to become a Funny Money Making Comedian
Becoming a comedian sounds like a really great job, that anyone who has a sense of humor could do, right? Not everyone can make it in the entertainment industry. And that's what becoming a comedian really is, working in the entertainment industry. After many years of hard work, a comedian can really go places from doing stand-up in dive bars. A really lucky, really funny comedian has the potential to make a lot of money. A comedian can write books, become an actor, write for television shows, and become rich and famous.
What you need
And here it comes, but, to make it in the entertainment industry as a comedian takes a lot of hard work, practice, writing, stamina,a hard outer shell and a really good agent. It also takes a lot of determination, drive, and the ability to live out of a suitcase on hardly any money until that big break comes along. Either that or the aspiring comedian must still live at home with Mom and Dad, or have a spouse that believes in them and pays all the bills.
It might also help to move to New York City or California to live in an area where an aspiring comedian can work and live, and get a lot of great exposure. Living in a big city a comedian can have access to many more comedy clubs than a person living in a small town would. Therefore, the funny person can create a larger following and get more attention, recognition, and possibly even access to getting noticed.
Once a comedian has been working at perfecting his or her craft for awhile, then you will want to get a talent agent. The agent can create an entirely new world for a comedian in a much larger arena. A talent agent can get a comedian work writing for television shows, and obtain appearances on television shows. An agent will also help the aspiring comedian get work in national comedy clubs, and performing on TV shows just for comedians.
What you have to do
A truly talented funny person will have to work really hard for many years before recognition comes. After all you're working in the entertainment industry and only so many people make it really big. If you don't aspire to becoming the next BIG thing, then you can make a decent living working as a comedian. But, you will have to practice, practice , practice. Utilize your friends and family as guinea pigs and try your new jokes out on them. Sometimes this might not be a good idea though, because they may love you so much, and they try to make you feel good, even though the jokes aren't funny.
Take the show on the road! Take a notebook and a pen to a public place. Sit down in the park, or a mall or a restaurant and just watch people. Become very observant of what kinds of people there are, and what they do. When you are truly humorous, you will see humor in everything around you. You will see the humor in everything you do and what everyone else does.
Carry a notebook everywhere you go, even at home because funny aspects of every day life will take place. Remember, you can't force humor, it just happens. The more you have going on in your life, the better off you are. Why? Being in a relationship has its rewards! Just think you can make money off your loved ones. Comedians are always telling jokes about their spouses. And some of them are really funny. Men are always telling jokes about how they don't understand how women can be called the weaker sex, when women have complete say so in a marriage.
Comedians are funny people that want to make lots of money telling jokes. Work hard, be determined, write every day, practice your craft, get an agent, move to a big city.
