From 3arf

A wrapped gift without a bow or some type of decorative topper is liked a woman putting on makeup and forgetting the lipstick.  The topper is the pop, the wow, the final touch, the ta-da!  Besides all of the beautiful bows that can be bought, there are endless possibilities when it comes to the perfect top for any gift.Matching the topper to the gift is an easy way to get started.  Gifts for the "foodie" on your list, whether a cookbook, kitchen item or food are perfect for a topping of nested measuring spoons or measuring cups in shiny silver or colors.  These usually come on rings, so when you tie the ring to the package, the spoons splay and make a little tingling sound.  There are also very cute spoon rests, hot pads, many utensils like cookie cutters, whisks, spatulas which have either holes or are attached to a ring making attachment very easy.  For a little more oomph, use curing ribbon to tie objects to the package and make a few extra curls to surround the item.  Match the size of the topper to the size of the package.Gifts for babies are especially easy as toys, pacifiers, hair bows, sippy cups, or even a small pair of shoes are so cute tied with curling ribbon on top of a gift.  The actual gift can be anything, but how adorable for the gift to be clothing and the topper a matching hair bow or pair of shoes.Holiday picks found in craft stores are easily transformed into beautiful package toppers.  Usually used for floral displays, picks can have berries, pine cones, leaves, flowers and/or small holiday items such as ornaments, candy canes and such.  If using bows, a quick way to dress them up is to insert a pick near the center and fasten with hot glue.  If using a small bow, the pick can be disassembled and each item glued to the bow individually.  Short on ribbon?  Make a loop in the shape of the pink ribbon for breast cancer,  Where the ribbon overlaps, attach a pine branch with a small pick or any element from a pick for simple but beautiful package. Experimentation leads to creativity and the possibilities are endless.Christmas ornaments come in a myriad of colors and designs that are plastic and safe to adorn them perfectly wrapped Christmas gift.  Whether a single ornament that makes a statement alone or a cluster of different sized ornaments, any kind of ribbon will enhance the ornaments.  String or package ties can be used to hold ornament clusters together.
