How to Create a Disney Themed Wedding

From 3arf

Weddings are meant to be magical, like something out of a fairytale. So why not have a Disney-themed one? You can have a Disney Park host your wedding for you (which can be pretty pricey) or have your own original wedding. Here's how:

The dress: This is the most important part of your important day. You can find a dress that appears similar to one worn by a Disney princess on their wedding day (Cinderella, Ariel, Rapunzel, or even Tiana, if you're bold enough to go green!) or if you have the money, have a replica made specially for you.

The tux: Okay, maybe your man doesn't really care what he wears, or would rather die than have to wear a Prince Charming's wedding outfit, but you could try to model it after Flynn Rider's suit or something subtle like that.

The invitations: Maybe you can't have dukes with trumpets arriving at everyone's door to announce the royal wedding but a scroll-like invite modeled after Cinderella's invitation to the ball will do. Some gold and fancy calligraphy will give the same effect.

The bridesmaids: Dress them in pastels or bright colors that say "magic!" No white.

The location: You can go with the traditional church setting, but what says "Disney" is a boat (Ariel's wedding) or a garden with a gazebo. Someplace with lots of sunshine and flowers, or a ballroom in an grand old mansion. Or, if you must, in the middle of the bayou like in the Princess and the Frog.

The food: "Be our guest!" Model it after Belle's gourmet meal in Beauty and the Beast. I'd suggest pausing the movie at that point and writing down what you think each food is that you might like to have. And don't tell me you don't own the film. If you don't, you shouldn't be reading this article.

The cake: If you go to a good bakery I'll assure you there will be at least one cake decorator their with the imagination and creativity to make you a Disney-themed wedding cake. Especially if you go to Carlos' Bakery (Cake Boss).

The favors: You don't absolutely have to give out favors, but if you choose to, here's some suggestions: Personalized Disney pencils, something Mickey and Minnie Mouse like housewares, such as kissing salt and pepper shakers, personalized Mickey Mouse head shaped lollipops, Hershey kiss roses (Beauty and the Beast type thing), Disney love song soundtracks, personalized chocolate bars with characters on the wrapper, basically anything that's a wedding favor, but with a touch of Disney magic.
