How Taking a Walk can Eliminate Writers Block
Do you have writer's block, or simply cannot think of a topic to write about? There are a million good ways to get rid of your writer's block, but you should consider taking a walk, or just going outside for a few minutes. It is amazing what you can dream up when you are looking at the stars, or walking down the city streets looking at the bright lights and sounds.Most of the time writer's block simply comes from a lack of focus. Either you are focused on the wrong thing, or you are focusing on things that simply don’t matter at the time. When you go out and just take a walk, you let your mind wander for a bit, and then you get back on track.Letting go of your distractions is a great way to get rid of your writer's block. When you are simply walking around you don’t have any cares in the world. You are just getting rid of all the things in your mind that are bringing you down, and just focusing on what you need to do. It could also be that you are finally able to focus on what you want to write about, and it allows you to start writing.Sometimes stress or boredom are causes of writer's block. Just getting out of the house for a few minutes can make everything seem better. You wake up, get out of your funk and go back to the computer refreshed mentally and ready to go. Getting some exercise by walking around for a few minutes can focus on you, too.There is certainly a poetry in nature that tends to grab your imagination. The leaves on the trees swirling in the wind, or the cars honking in unison have a certain rhythm to them. It makes you stand there and take notice for a second, and it opens up your world. Maybe your start to wonder what was making the driving honk his horn, and a whole story opens up.The next time you have writer's block, you should just get up and take a walk. Get outside and just take in some fresh air for a few minutes. Even if you are only going outside to your porch, it will help you focus by just looking around you for a few minutes. Chances are you will forget your distractions and start writing.
