Honda Cr v Radio Switch Replace
On CR-V's with the stereo controls mounted right on the steering wheel, those controls are all part of the same switch assembly. If this assembly goes bad, it's very easy to replace, and it can be done in under 10 minutes. If you don't already have a replacement switch, you can purchase one online fromHondaPartsNow.comfor $39.68. The switch comes in two colors, taupe and black, depending on the colors of your vehicle's interior. You can select either switch from the parts list on the website. (Both are labeled #20 on the diagram.) If you have a local Honda service center that you are familiar with, they should be able to order the switch for you and you may not have to pay shipping (though the price of the switch may vary). To remove the old switch, first turn the car off if it's not already. The switch is held by two screws on the left hand side; remove these with a Phillips screwdriver. Once the screws are out, the switch is only attached by its white connector. You can remove this connector by pushing in on the tab on the back side of the switch (toward the front of the vehicle) and pulling the switch away from the connector. However, this part will take some patience, since there is hardly any slack in the wires so you won't have a lot of wiggle room. When you push in on the tab, push in as far from the switch side as you can (closer to the steering wheel). It may help to use a small blade or flathead screwdriver, if you can work it in there.Once you've released the tab and pulled the connector out, you are ready to install the new switch. Attach it to the connector - it will lock when you insert the connector into the switch - and then push the switch back into place next to the steering wheel, making sure to line up the screw holes. Now just put the screws in and tighten them, and the job is done.Turn the car on and test the buttons on the switch (Volume, Channel, and Mode) to make sure they work. If the buttons don't work, remove and reinstall the connector again, being sure that is attached snugly.
