High School Gift Guidelines for Girls

From 3arf

Every high school female graduate cannot wait for her graduation.  Many are anxious to throw their cap up in the air and know that they have completed high school and a new journey will be beginning.  After the ceremony has ended the parties begin and many students’ females and males alike cannot wait for the gifts.  Many girls wish for very grandiose gifts such as a car or a vacation with friends; although maybe impractical would be a brand new car.  Chances are that may not be cost effective or within your families budget.  A more practical gift would be a nice piece of jewelry to commemorate the day that officially enters them into adulthood.  Personally this writer would think a gift should be based on performance during the young ladies high school career.

If the young girl did not excel or floundered through school they should not be rewarded for not applying themselves.  In another instance if your daughter, niece, granddaughter triumphed and excelled in school the reward or gift should meet the work.  When in high school most students are very focused on their social lives and their school work and grades tend to suffer.  Would you want to send the message to a pre college age student that mediocre work should result in a shopping spree, a vacation, a large sum of money?  Most parents would say no that they would not want to reward such lackadaisical work with a hefty reward.  With that said graduating at any level should be seen as an accomplishment and rewarded within reason.

If a parent reinforces the mediocre work they are setting a precedence that you can get by through college and in a job with little work.   This many of us know is not how the real world works and at times can see the hardships it places on the people who work with the person who does not meet the fully desired work level on a project.  We want to shape our future generations to be hard working, responsible young women.  Parents and other loved ones would not be sending the right message if we applaud laziness even if it comes in the form of a gift.

Most graduating students female or male are aware of the upcoming step of college or into the workforce.  If the student excelled and put in the needed effort to succeed above and beyond and is heading into college a reward is due.  Any father will tell you that no daughter would ever turn down a gift be it a new necklace, a new purse, or some new clothes.  Females are pleased not only by materialistic gifts but are also touched by sentimental ones as well.  Maybe their mother could pass on a piece of jewelry or something that has been handed down through many generations.

Gifts can be hard to choose depending on how you are going about it and what your criteria are.  This writer feels that you should reward the work that has been done and reward them for what their future may hold.
