Gps not a Big Brother Component – No
I do not believe that we are being watched simply by using our gps systems. My reasoning for this is simply that within the United States where i live the places i go would not be of great interest to the government. An example would be why should the government care if i have been to the grocery store a total of three times that day. Through this example perhaps i had forgotten a few things it is not as if i am planning a terrorist attack against the very nation that i love. Because going to the grocery store is just not a place of attack nor a reason for alarm. I believe if there was a real and true threat within the United States either the government would tell us or it would some how be weasled out. If big brother was truly evident would they not be in a more complex way trying to view us through our cell phones, laptop emails, or even a higher screening of our mail. There are better uses of the governments funds than simply to watch over us to see if we are hiding something or commiting a small unpunishable crime. Stealing music on the internet is a higher crime for instance as a secondary example rather than planning out a course to your grandmothers house that just happens to be in the center of Chicago. All of the circumstances that have presented themselves are simply laid out. It is your decision however to determine whether or not you want to believe that Gps is or is not an invasion of our privacy and being watched. In conclusion, i do not believe that gps has and will ever be a device used to watch indiviuals in the United States or in other countries because there are easier and more complex methods present. Why would you spend the time and money to target a enemy close at hand one hundred feet away when you could simply have someone look at him from a scope far away. As a military standpoint you would inturn not only save the life of a sniper but you would also save your life of many other men. By saving individuals that would have been victims to bio chemical attacks or even direct gun fire you clear your objective and could harm rather than kill a target from far away.
