Government Organizations Celebration Queens Diamond Jubilee

The royal subjects of the Queen will be joined by the hearty Government officials and organizations of UK and the Commonwealth realm in celebrating the festivities of theDiamond Jubilee celebrations of Queen Elizabeth II. In celebration of the grand occasion, different events and activities have been planned throughout the long weekend from Saturday, 2 June to Tuesday, 5 June 2012. Public and national events are being held to commemorate the occasion, including concerts, street parties, lunches, etc. Public Holidays have also been announced in the UK and the Commonwealth realm in this regard.

The Government of the UK will celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee by announcing a long weekend. A public holiday has been announced on 5 June, which extends the weekend up to four days. The celebrations of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee will take place during the long weekend in the United Kingdom and many other Commonwealth realms. TheBritish High Commissionsand embassies located across the world will join in the celebrations to pay homage to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Apart from the High Commission Officers, the Government representatives in the countries where the embassies are located will also join in the festivities to make the occasion truly memorable.

The governments of the Commonwealth realm are not too far behind in the celebrations. TheGovernment of Cyprushas organized two major street parties in Episkopi and Paphos, in which different Government organizations, including the Parliament members, the President and Prime Ministers and the army personnel will offer their congratulatory messages to the Queen. TheGovernment of the Caymon islandshas announced that Queen Elizabeth will be bestowed upon by a special medal of honor, known as the Order of the Cayman. TheGovernment of the Falkland Islandswill release commemorative stamps and souvenirs in honor of the Queen’s Jubilee. The Government has also announced 4 June as a national holiday throughout the Falkland Islands. On 4 June, the Prime Minister of Australia will light the National Jubilee Beacon on top of the parliament building on behalf of theAustralian Government. TheCanadian Governmenthas also announced to bestow the Queen with an honorable medal. Similarly, the Governments of Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Grenada, Jamaica, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, St. Christopher and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Solomon Islands and Tuvalu will also celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

The enthusiasm of the public as well as the government on the occasion of the Queen’s Jubilee is evident from the different celebrations and festivities planned. There is no doubt that the entire UK and the Commonwealth will reverberate with the chants of “God Save our Queen.”
