Goth Makeup Tips
Perfect Gothic Wedding Makeup
Makeup is one of the integral points to being a Goth bride. Once you've picked out everything else it's time to think about your makeup and that of your wedding party. You should first decide if you all wish to match or if you want yourself to stand out' against the others. You might wish to be the 'Cleopatra' among your party! Once you've done that you will just need to follow these simple tips to be one of the most beautiful Goth brides to walk towards the altar.
~ PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE
A teacher once told me practice makes permanent' not practice makes perfect'. I tend to agree. If you practice and you're using the wrong makeup or techniques you will merely make permanent your bad habits. Never, ever try out your new makeup on the big day. This will usually lend itself to disaster. You do not want to have an allergic reaction and have your face swollen to blowfish proportions on your wedding day. Try out new colors, styles, and products. Have someone knowledgeable in the field give you some tips so that your practice will be worthwhile.
~ BEGIN WITH A PERFECT CANVAS
You will always start with a foundation that will be a shade or two lighter than your skin. Also, a good concealer will hide any blemishes that you might have. Apply the concealer first, wait about ten minutes, and apply your choice of foundation using a sponge in a circular manner. The foundation should not give you a pure white ghost' face but lend your canvas (face) an ethereal and timeless feel.
~ EYES
Eyes are the window to the soul, and therefore need to be the center point of your Gothic makeup. Your eyebrows should be groomed before beginning to apply your eye makeup. Carefully apply a creamy white eye shadow to your eyelids and under brow areas. Make sure this is smooth and applied with precision. Next, you'll want to apply black liquid eyeliner just to the bottom and top lids. Do not pull back your eyelid. Instead, carefully draw a line upon the upper eyelid ending with an arc' that makes your eyes appear to have a catlike' shape. On the bottom, you'll need to gently smudge the black eyeliner into the lower lashes. Adding false eyelashes in a dark hue with accent your eyes and make them look bigger. Color is your choice. Make Goth brides like the traditional black and white eye, while others like a hint of pink or bright color to offset the canvas.
~ LIPS
Want perfect Goth baby doll lips? Start by finding the perfect red for you. Try these colors out in natural' light instead of fluorescent that the stores use. Find one that accents your natural coloring and doesn't make your teeth look yellow. This is a fatal flaw of some Goth brides. No woman wants to have yellow looking teeth on her wedding day. Once you've found your perfect lip shade follow these simple steps to get your baby doll lips. First, apply your foundation over your entire lip area to hide the original shape. Next, use a liner to draw your new lip' in the shape of a Cupid's bow or heart'. Finally, fill in your new lip with your perfect red lip coloring. Tada! You now have perfect Goth baby doll' lips.
Make sure to gather a toolbox' of items you will need for your wedding makeup. This should include all your colors, a hand mirror, an eyebrow brush, foundation, nail polish, lip liner, and anything you might want to use on the big day. Don't forget anything and have someone else check over your list and toolbox' to ensure that you have everything you need to make your perfect Goth wedding come true. Following these tips will make you a beautiful Gothic bride. Just remember, practice makes permanent so practice as if it is your wedding day. Don't play around or you might not get the look you want in the end.
