Future Electric Cars Electric Cars in the Future

From 3arf

The one thing funny about putting the future down in print is that it could theoretically be predicating the future with thoughts/words which end up inspiring someone else who possesses the means to turn the concept of what has been  "spoken" into a physical object.  Before proceeding to the topic, recognition must be given those of  who have said,  "Hey, that was my idea!"  Well done.  Great thinkin'!  This article goes out to all of you.

The future of electric cars will be of erratic change and concept.  There is no telling of all the changes we will see before we pass on the torch to some other destined generation.  Lighter alloys, better overall electrical efficiency, more aerodynamic design, even robotic mechanics all possibly play a role in production of the electric cars of the future.  Toll locations for recharging the vehicles will begin appearing all over the place.  Here is one for the "that was my idea" category...Parking Garages that have entire levels dedicated to recharging the little "green" grocery getters.  Oh yea, and the level that will be responsible for doing so will be at the top in order use wind and solar to help power the recharging stations for those efficient little cars.

The near future is already told when speaking of electric cars.  Battery capacity is very limited in the up-and-coming electric car race.  The current batteries necessary to store enough charge to drive only forty miles are cumbersome for the little cars which carry them.  These cars will only be viable with a back-up source of power-a small internal combustion engine if used for more than getting around town.  There will still be the need for on board fuel such as gasoline or biodiesel to give the vehicle enough range for someone to go out of town and back.  The next few generations of electric and hybrid will be hyped and expensive.  All will all change as the latest battery technologies are solidified.

With new battery technology emerging, production electric automobiles will be able to carry a much larger charge and weigh less, thus allowing for longer range and increased performance.  Deals on "off-peak" charging will make charging the car cheaper and easier than "gassing it up."  This situation could create a "boom" in production of electric cars making them much more affordable as well.
