Five Ways to Add two Hours to your Day
Some people in the world always seem to have more time than others. There are those who can juggle a full time degree while still keeping two jobs and have time to socialize, and there are those who struggle to find time to sleep.
It's not because one has more hours than the other, in fact, we all do only have 24 hours a day. However, with a bit of planning and time management, you can too, add more hours to your day to do what you enjoy.
1. Prioritize your tasksWe only complain about time when it comes to important things. Forgot to walk the dog, or forgot to phone mum. Therefore, it is essential to prioritize the tasks so that you finish what is important first before you commit your time to other things.
2. Plan your daysThis goes without saying. Planning is the best way to avoid losing time. Once you have your priorities it is important to put them into a plan or a timetable. Many people experience moments when it seems time has just gone too fast. Knowing what to do with your time and when to do them is one way to keep time under control. Allocate the hours of the day to each task you need to do, always give extra time for each task so you know if something goes wrong, you still have time to wait. This doesn't mean you can't be flexible. If something does come up, make sure you make a mental note and re-plan your activities. In the beginning this method may seem like hard work but after a bit of practice, you'd be planning in your head without even thinking.
3. Then all there is to do is to stick to your plan.
4. Keep a regular sleep patternHow many of us complain that the weekend goes too fast after we've just slept in until noon and have not done anything useful in the morning? Keeping a regular sleeping pattern and not allowing yourself to sleep in to late hours not only is good for your health, as too much sleep can in fact make you more tired with less energy, it also gives you the extra hours in the morning to do things. Is there something you have been meaning to do like walk the dog but you just have been too tired after work each day to do so? Well, this is your chance.
5. Turn away from distractionsTelevision and computer games are alright if you are absolutely out of things to do and have no other plans and activities during the day. Otherwise they are the biggest distraction and time stealing entertainment you need to avoid if you are looking for more time in your life. By not watching Grey's Anatomy is not going to get you into trouble, however if you are complaining afterwards that some of your work has been left undone, or that you have no time for anything else, then perhaps it's best you leave your TV and the game alone.
