Finding Hot Deals

From 3arf

As Black Friday 2012 approaches, shoppers all over the country are trying to figure out what the hot deals are going to be this year. There are manypreviewsof what the hot deals of the day are going to be, however the major players are all offering their fliers on their own website. This year, Black Friday is going to begin earlier than ever with several major retailers barely allowing shoppers the time to digest their turkey dinner before opening their doors. If you want to be among those who snag one of the really spectacular buys, here are a few tips about what will be out there waiting for you and thousands of other people.

Wal-Mart

Wal-Mart is always one of the more popular stores with shoppers on Black Friday, so popular, in fact, that often the lines start hours early. With Wal-Mart's early opening this year, you might want to think about having a Thanksgiving breakfast. This year Wal-Mart offers a Compaq Presario laptop computer for $179, an Emerson 40-inch HDTV for $198 and a Nikon S3200 digital camera for $69.  For 13 hours, from Thursday November 22 until 11 p.m. November 23, the iPad® 2 16GB with Wi-Fi will be sold for $399. Many of the specials are in-store only, and some are only guaranteed to be in stock for an hour, from 10 p.m. until 11 p.m. on Thursday, November 22. The Emerson 40-inch TV, The iPad2 and a $38 LG Blu-ray player are guaranteed to be in stock during these times.

This is just a small sampling, and with the re-introduction of Wal-Mart's layaway program, this should lead to some interesting shopping. If you want to use layaway, keep in mind that, according to several sources, it won’t be available until Friday morning at 9 a.m.. That might require a 12-hour wait in the store with your well-priced item. Wal-Mart has limited quantities of their sale items; if you wait until 9 a.m. to look, you will be disappointed.

Target

Target is another retailer that is very popular with Black Friday shoppers. As usual, they are offering some outstanding electronics deals including a 50-inch Westinghouse HDTV for $349, a PlayStation 3 with two games for $199 and a Nook Simple Touch for $49. One of their more unusual offerings is a 6-foot-tall pre-lit Christmas tree for a mere $30. Target will also be opening early on Thanksgiving Day, at 9 p.m..

Be prepared for huge crowds, limited quantities and special purchases that will sell out fast. If you have the Target Red Card, you can save an additional 5% on all purchases.

Best Buy

A perennial favorite for electronics, Best Buy is not opening until midnight, which allows shoppers to take advantage of Target and Wal-Mart's deals before heading to Best Buy. Deals include a Toshiba 40-inch HDTV for $179 and a Samsung 15-inch lap top for $349. There are also some great priced DVDs and lots more.

Retailers are expecting a great holiday season for 2012 and are offering some very enticing deals on Black Friday. If you have the stamina and the desire to save big-time, some of these deals are quite irresistible.
