Exploring a Career with Bank of America

From 3arf

Exploring a career with Bank of America- I can guarantee you that at least one person you know might have a banking account with Bank of America. It is a very successful bank. But what if you wanted to be employed in Bank of America? Do they have great job opportunities? That could be answered in my latest article( but I'll just right another one tomorrow and it won't be the latest anymore.)

Bank of America has a lot of business opportunities. Here is a list:  retail banking, commercial banking, investment managing, and investment banking. And they have 206,000 full-time employees, 6,100 retail banking offices ( in the US), 59 million client relations, 1.7 trillion in assets, and a presence in 31 countries. But Bank of America is no more just banking. Thanks to Merrill Lynch, it now has financial advisory services, and securities, appealing to a much broader client base. It also has 60,000 employees, 15,000 financial advisors (as of June 2009), and has a presence in 40 countries. So Bank of America won't go unnoticed. And neither will you if you seek employment.

Working at Bank of America has many benefits. Since Bank of America has expanded to many places, it has many career opportunities( like I have said before). But you can also gain experience in multiple sectors of the industry. If you would look for more careers elsewhere, Its long reputation as an industry leader makes a tour of duty there a great enhancement to your resume. In 2008, they only cut 4,200 jobs, 6.5%, of the work force despite the massive financial losses in that year. Keep in mind that the number of financial advisers are still growing. Recently, Merrill Lynch decided to make a goal and add 2,000 new advisors during the year by training those who are inexperienced in the job.

But everything has its flaw. Huge, multi-billion dollar losses and write-downs continue to mount, already wiping out 2-3 year's worth of prior profits. In addition to the 2008 job cuts, they announced a hiring freeze. And they seem to not have a strategic direction after this. But I'm very optimistic that things will improve for Bank of America because it has been successful for a long time and they seem to know what they're doing. So don't hesitate to be employed at Bank of America.

Bank of America is a great place as any to get a job. I would get a job too if I didn't already have one; sitting next to this computer so I could tell you things! It is a very successful bank with many job opportunities. So if you're looking for a job, don't count out Bank of America!
