From 3arf

Abu Dhabi is one of the richest cities in the world and as such there is agreat opportunityfor expats living in the region to find work. In fact, the population of Abu Dhabi is dominated by expats from countries all across the Arab world, as well as workers from the western world. It is important to note that due to the sheer amount of expats and the opportunity for employment in the region Abu Dhabi is one of the most expensive cities to live in. It's designation as the second most expensive city for expats is due in part largely to the vast array of cultural andrecreational activitiesthat can be enjoyed by visitors to the area.

Abu Dhabi is the capital city of the United Arab Emirates and is a major commercial, cultural, industrial and political hub which is seat to the federal government as well as a major location for financial services including the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange and the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates. It'sgreat wealthcomes from the fact that it is one of the world's largest producers of oil although in recent years the economy has been diversified by the addition of tourist attractions.

For expats living and working inAbu Dhabiit is important to note how diversified the culture of the city is and while visiting there an individual may hear as many as nine different languages being spoken on a regular basis. This being said, Abu Dhabi is regarded as one of the most tolerant cities in the region due to the exposure of its citizens and visiting expats to such a wide variety of cultures and religions. Abu Dhabi is a city where Mosques and Christian centers of worship stand side by side and there are few recorded cases of violence related to the city's religious diversity.

The architecture and overalldesign of the cityis truly amazing and there has been a great effort put forth on behalf of the government to make it one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Once a desert region devoid of green space, irrigation projects have turned Abu Dhabi into a city boasting many parks and areas of greenery. During the summer months however, the region is known for its frequent sandstorms and arid climate, although for many tourists visiting the city's astounding beachfront this climate is preferred.

Due to city planning and the subsequent overpopulation of the city it is prone to traffic congestion and a shortage of parking. Although the city itself is laid out predominately on a grid pattern design, directions are based upon local landmarks and it may be difficult for a visiting expat to find his or her way around town until they have become familiar with the city's best known structures and sites. Abu Dhabi has much to offer however and is a mecca for visiting expats seeking work and recreation in one of the world's most beautiful and wealthy cities.
