Eating Chocolate on Easter – No

From 3arf

Easter isn't one to ever make the top favorite holiday list. Four months after the wonderful holidays, the family get back together for some more family bonding. The men are off getting drunk, the kids are fighting and the women are complaining about they're live over preparations for dinner. After the dinner, children are bored out of there minds and starting to become rowdy. No, they don't want to listen to grown-up talk, or about the family feud with Uncle Bob or Aunt Cathy. They don't even want to be eating the food on the table. As the oldest kid is use to the wait he tries to stay calm and well behaved, but the youngest and least experience is tied. He wants to go looking for the Easter Eggs. For the ultimate prize of lots of chocolate! Every year previous the family had let them have unlimited chocolate, this year as the kids fight over the eggs and cousin Nathan wins again, he goes for his prize and receives the small bag of about three Hershey bars. Well three Hershey bars might seem like a whole lot to us, as we can already hear our stomach unsettling at the mere thought, to kids it isn't even going to make them full! They waited all that time for nothing. To kids, Easter isn't about the family reunion, it isn't about the religious aspect of it, its for the chocolate! Lets be frank here, what else is there to look forward to? The endless chatter with Grandma Lynn, who by the way is still off her rocker and can't remember anyone's name? No way! It's the chocolate, for kids its like the reward, the ending prize. Why else is it even worth it to behave throughout the evening?

As a very obvious statement people in America are getting fat and especially the youth generation with a lack of exercise. But it is a holiday. And aren't on holidays you suppose to give a little? Give your kids a break, and let them eat the chocolate they have been hiding under there bed for the past month.Let them spend the next year eating correctly, but at such a young age are you already going to start making your kid worry about their weight? In a few years they will be worrying about their weight and you'll probably want to force them to eat chocolate. Kids are only young once. One day, 24 hours of eating chocolate will not hurt them. It will save parents the extremely annoying screams of children begging, fighting for it. Give it to them, worst comes to worst they eat to much and they spend 2 hours in the bathroom throwing it up. Also, chocolate is a very general type of food nowadays, they have dark, milk and white. White and dark are more healthy then milk chocolate, so why not give them some of that. Besides, what else are you going to give the kids as a prize for finding the most eggs?
