Easter Holiday Origins

From 3arf

Many people celebrate the holiday known as Easter without knowing the history behind it. Easter is a pagan holiday and was originated long before Jesus was even born. So how can one say that they are celebrating it because it symbolizes the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ?

The history of Easter is quite lengthy, so bear with me as I give you the details.....

Cush, the grandson of Noah, married a woman named Ishtar. Together, they had a son whom they called Nimrod, who in turn married his own mother after his father's death. Nimrod was eventually killed and dismembered by an enemy. Other events followed. Well, Nimrod's widow/mother, who is also known as Ishtar, (pronounced EASTER), later became pregnant. Being the queen of a nation, fornication was not smiled upon, therefore, Ishtar fabricated a story to validate her transgression. She had previously told her people that her late husband/son had ascended up into the heavens as the "Sun God" (hence the sunrise service), and that he was to be called "Baal" from that day forward. This is because she had collected all of his members except his reproductive organ after his murder. Therefore, she could not resurrect him. So on behalf of her pregnancy, she told her people that she was a goddess who was dropped into the Euphrates River in the form of an egg (hence the Easter Egg). She also said that Baal had impregnated her. She later gave birth to a boy whom she named Tammuz.

Tammuz was killed as a young boy by a wild pig. Ishtar "informed" her people that Tammuz had ascended to be with his father, Baal, and that the two of them would be with the worshippers in the sacred candle or lamp flame as Father, son, and spirit. (hence the trinity doctrine) Sitar also told them that when her son, Tammuz, was killed, his blood was spilled on the stump of an evergreen tree (hence the Christmas tree) that grew overnight. So on the anniversary of Tammuz's death, Ishtar ordered that everyone grieve for forty days. (hence the holiday called Lent) During this time, meat was NOT to be eaten. Worshippers were to make the sign of a "T" (hence the trademark of the Catholics) ( this did not represent the cross).

You might question how this pagan tradition even crept its way into the church. Well, the answer is through the Catholic Church. So instead of just following traditions, start questioning the things you do, why you do them, and how they are done. There is more to life than meets the eye. And there is more to salvation than even you may know.
