Easter 2010 Easter Basket Ideas for Teen Girls
No one is ever too old to receive an Easter basket. These timeless gifts never fail to bring joy and surprise to everyone. Teenage girls are no exception, and the fun and pretty items you can use to fill an Easter basket for a teen or pre-teen are limitless.
Think of the young lady’s personality and interests, and then indulge her new senses with a bountiful basket.
First, consider the basket you will present to the girl. Don't opt for a flimsy, childish basket. The idea is to make her feel like a young lady and not a little girl, while still treating her to a tradition she's cherished since childhood.
A nice willow basket that has an appealing style is a good choice. She might like an antique flower basket, or perhaps a more contemporary wire or industrial look. A basket that she can later use to keep her toiletries, socks, journals, or a personal collection will be appreciated.
Instead of using traditional Easter grass, place one or two brightly colored t-shirts in her size at the bottom of the basket for cushion. And then proceed to fill the basket.
I. Fill it With Things That Say She's Grown Up
If the teen is already wearing a little bit of makeup or she's just starting out, go to a few cosmetic counters and ask for samples. Or, if you have time, you can order samples various beauty products on line from many popular cosmetic firms.
But if she’s already found a makeup line or product that she loves, then place one or two of her favorite items in her basket.
Hard Candy® makeup can be found at Walmart, Sephora and other department stores. This is a new line of makeup with the young, contemporary lady in mind. It has a wide variety of fun, funky colors and textures, with glittery creams, pencils and eye tattoos that are popular with teens these days.
If she is younger, or favors a more conservative palette, offer her soft pastel eye shadows and pale, sheer lip glosses for her to experiment with.
The familiar plastic eggs that open up used to hold candy and tiny toys and puzzles when she was younger. As a nice whimsical touch, fill the same plastic eggs with a couple of tiny Bon-Bon® nail polishes in fun Easter egg colors. A nice touch would be to include a small manicure set and a bottle of strawberry or rose scented hand lotion.
At this age, a lot of young ladies begin to keep a journal. Feel free to include a small notebook, pen and perhaps a favored book. You might place a small copy of the New Testament somewhere in her basket.
II. Fill it With Things That Say She's Still a Little Girl
No teenage girl is too grown up for an Easter Bunny. Find a pretty stuffed bunny in her favorite color and hang a lovely necklace around its neck, or pin a small silk corsage or brooch on its ear. Place the Easter Bunny in the center of the basket.
And because she's a girl as well as a young woman, she probably has a keen appreciation for chocolate. Stuff small pieces of quality grown up chocolate throughout the basket for her to lavish in.
