With the current state of the nation's economy, it's really no wonder that everybody and their grandma is looking for work online. Let me rephrase that, Everybody and their grandma is trying to find a way to earn money while they are sitting at their desk. I say kudos to those who find what they are searching for, but as for the rest of us, welcome to reality. There are thousands, if not millions of get rich quick schemes out there and I have yet to hear of an honest account of one that truly works and pays off. First up, we have online surveys. Now unless you sit at your desk for 20+ hours a day completing surveys nonstop, don't count on making a living from this one. Although there are a select few who have really made a go of this. Basically, all you do is sign up for online survey companies and they aren't very hard to find. Actually, they are all over the internet, just Google online survey and see how many results you get. There is a way to make some real money through this opportunity, it takes a bit of internet marketing know how, which isn't impossible, but it will take some time. In any case, to turn a real profit with these types of sites you will need to get involved in what is called referral marketing. No you don't have to bother your family and friends to join up and start taking surveys. To succeed here you will need to build either a website or a blog and create an article containing a link to said online survey site. Now, how you may ask does this site know that I sent these people to them and how do I get the credit for them. Well, that's simple, once you get your site up and running you go to all of these survey sites and find a link, usually at the bottom of the page labeled affiliates. Click on this and you'll be taken to a page where you'll apply for an affiliate link. When they send you your link, you will hyperlink this into the text on your blog or site and whenever someone clicks on it they will be linked to the survey site where they will sign up and you will receive a percentage of every survey that they complete.
Another way to profit while keeping that desk chair warm is affiliate marketing. Now, this one is a lot more involved than the survey taking method, however, the profit potential is endless. Of course, this is going to depend on how involved you actually get. I'm not going to go into a lot of detail here, because I could literally write a book on this subject, however, if you are good at researching thing on the internet, all of the information that you will need to be a tremendous success at internet or affiliate marketing (which by the way are one and the same) is out there. There are more than a boat load of websites out there that are dedicated to nothing but affiliate marketing. The short version of it is, affiliate marketing is putting up a site and either selling a product or selling advertising space on your blog or website.

This is just a couple of the opportunities that are available to those who are interested in earning money whilesitting at their desk. However, depending on how creative you actually are, the possibilities are endless. There are countless opportunities out there, you just need to figure them out. Perhaps you'll find something not yet thought of. That is how people get extremely wealthy through internet success. The main thing that you should always keep in mind is that most honest online money making opportunities will not be something that you can buy. That is not to say that there is no cost involved in earning money online. For instance to have a truly profitable website, you will have to purchase a domain name register it and pay for hosting. These are very minor expenses.
