In today's business world, there are many career clusters one may choose to have a career within. That statement is true throughout the Accounting World as well. One hoping to work with Accounting has many possible career choices. One could be a CEO or CFO. You could be a Governmental or Forensic Accountant. A person wanting to be a part of this field could even be an International Account or Certified Public Accountant. All of these careers within the Accounting World require years of training, education, and experience before becoming the best qualified person for the job.
Of the many careers that fall under the category of Accounting, the one I would prefer having is being a Certified Public Accountant, or CPA. Certified Public Accountants can be a part of any sector of our life. This means CPA's can either work privately and deal with individuals, or they can work publicly for a corporation or other business. In addition to this, Certified Public Accountants can deal with virtually any area of finance. Most CPA's, deal with assurance and attestation services, corporate finance, estate planning, personal financial accounting, personal financial planning, income taxes, and tax preparations. These services are most always offered by a Certified Public Accountant, whether he works within the public or private sector. Other services in addition to these are also be offered by CPA's if they are willing to do so.
Being a Certified Public Accountant is one career that can be very rewarding throughout the career path it takes you on. People who complete enough education and pass all prerequisites required to become a CPA, a very high paycheck can be expected. However, with becoming a Certified Public Accountant, there is a very high standard of ethics you must hold you self to. Because this job requires you to know personal information about the people needing your services, it is the duty of the Certified Public Accountant to protect the information to the fullest extent. This is important because the information given to a CPA should not be knowledgeable to other people besides the professional. In addition to this, if personal information of an individual is somehow stolen, it could result in identity theft or other serious crimes. Honesty, integrity, hard work, and dedication are all very important traits for a Certified Public Accountant to have and are possessed by all successful CPA's
Of the many careers that are available to a person interested in working with the Accounting World, I feel that being a Certified Public Accountant would be the most rewarding choice. Even though it requires much more education that most careers in Accounting or Business, it is rewarding. The salary for a Certified Public Accountant is very competitive with other careers available, helping reward them for the long period of time spend in school. Lastly of the many careers I could chose from the Accounting World, this is the one I would want to do most because I can more directly have an influence on people and provide them with a service not many others can. This satisfaction of helping people would be a payment in itself.
