Christmas Tree Ornament Crafts
Christmas ornaments are excellent crafts for children and adults alike. They can be made with little expense and can take many shapes and forms. Children can get into the spirit of the holiday with them as well. There are many ways you can make this craft.
Styrofoam ball ornament
If you want a Christmas ornament in the classic round shape, then consider using a Styrofoam ball as your base. These are sold in all different sizes in craft stores. You can also choose a shape other than a ball, such as an oval or a triangle.
There are many different ways you can decorate your ornament. Glue on embellishments such as rhinestones, sequins, feathers or little pieces of paper. Wrap it in aluminum foil to give it a shiny look. Glue on glitter to make it very sparkly. You can also wrap the ball in ribbon or lace. Once you have finished, take a large paper clip and unbend it. Make one end straight and stick it into the ball. The other end can be used to hang it onto the tree. Alternatively, you can use ribbon to hang it.
Snowflake ornament
Children and adults can make their own unique snowflakes with little more than paper. Take a piece of paper and fold it up many times. Cut all around the paper, cutting out tiny portions here and there. There is no right or wrong way to do it; if you are doing it with a group of children each should do his or her own unique craft. Once you unfold it, it will be its own unique snowflake. Tape or glue on a piece of ribbon to hang it.
You can hang it like that or decorate it first. Clear and white glitter can give it a snow-like sheen. Young children can use crayons or markers to decorate it. You can add embellishments as well.
Pipe cleaner candy canes
Pipe cleaners can be used to make a colorful and easy ornament craft for a Christmas tree. Take two, three or more pipe cleaners and twist them together so that the colors alternate. Bend the top so that it is in the shape of a candy cane. You can glue on glitter, tie on a ribbon or include other embellishments. Simply hook it on the tree.
