Christmas Decorating Music
This Christmas, adorn the halls and foyers to the merry sound of "Deck the Halls". Reclaim the innocence of a child eagerly decking the halls so they are ready for Santa. So blast this merry melody for kids of all ages to enjoy while pinning red bows and ribbons, wreaths, Advent calendars, wall hangings and lights around the house.
Since most people associate Christmas with snow, holiday decorations connected to the white stuff are common. While putting up fluffy fake snow around your mantel, enjoy a sentimental feeling while playing "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas". Outside or indoors, snowmen also evoke happy childhood Christmas memories for many people, so choose one of many versions of "Frosty the Snowman" to enjoy while setting them up.
Christmas bells, both as decorations and holiday music, are a cherished part of Christmas celebrations the world over. Unsurprisingly, many popular songs and tunes celebrate their joyous sound and sparkling visual beauty, The most familiar and appropriate ones for kids include "Jingle Bells", and, more recently, "Jingle Bell Rock". Older favorites include "The Carol of the Bells", and "Silver Bells". The Christmas tree is not without its special music as well. Choose the traditional favorites, "O Christmas Tree", and "O Tannenbaum", or go with the more modern stylings of "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree".
Most people would not dream of leaving Santa out of the holiday decor. The jolly old elf shows up on stockings, in art work, and in stuffed versions all around the house. What could be more appropriate than "Jolly Old Saint Nicholas"? Choose "Santa Baby" a naughty Santa song, for decorating with a significant other. Mrs. Claus and the reindeer, especially Rudolph, are nearly as popular as Santa himself. Santa's on his way, so don't forget "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town". When setting up the sleigh or reindeer ornaments, play the traditional favorite "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer", or the hilarious country song,"Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer".
Many people like to remember the traditional Christian meaning of Christmas by setting up a Nativity scene. Tuck Baby Jesus into the hay with "Away in a Manger", "Silent Night", "Mary's Boy Child", or perhaps "Huron Christmas Carol". Put sheep around the manger to the tune of "The First Noel", and "Rise Up Shepherd, and Follow". Place the Magi and their camels in the scene while enjoying "We Three Kings", which is also a good tune for putting stars anywhere in the house to commemorate the Star of Bethlehem.
This is also a good time to enjoy "O Little Town of Bethlehem". The song "The Little Drummer Boy" is an upbeat number for both the manger scene and elsewhere, especially when hanging up drum ornaments. While placing the Christmas angels, enjoy "Angels We Have Heard on High"., followed by "Hark! The Herald Angelis Sing!" Finally, celebrate a beautifully decorated house and the meaning of the season with a rousing rendition of the ultimate holiday classic, Handel's "Hallelulujah".
