From 3arf

Christmas is a great time to do crafts with kids.  There are so many different crafts for kids. The main ingredient in any craft for kids is fun. It has to be fun!

Glitter ornament

Items Needed

Glitter – assorted colorsGluePaper platesToothpicksNewspaperCard stock paperPrinterOne hole punchString or ribbon

Directions

Print out desired picture on card stock paper. It is best if the picture is no bigger than 3x5 but can be any size. You will be cutting it out to hang on the tree or around the house.

Pick out the first color of glitter that you wish to use on the ornament.

Pour some glue on a paper plate and then use one of the toothpicks to “draw” around the outline of the picture with the glue.

Sprinkle the glitter on the glue and then shake it off on to another paper plate.

Do this step with each color that you wish to use.  Be sure to have several paper plates so that the different colors of glitter are not mixed together.

Once all of the colors are on the picture, let it dry.

Punch a hole in the ornament with the hole punch.

Put the string or ribbon through the hole punch and tie.

Hang the ornament on the Christmas tree or somewhere in the house.

Children will love this craft, it is easy, messy and a lot of fun. Make sure they are not too young so that they do not get glitter in their eyes. This same idea can be used to make a picture that can be hung on the wall for the Christmas season.
