Choosing the right Motorcycle for you
Finding the right motorcycle for you will truly depend on your own style, preference, and what it is that you want to get from your riding experience. Also things like your own physical dimensions and riding skill should be brought into consideration. You will need to search inside yourself for a clear idea of what you are looking for and then shop around, trying allot of different brands and styles in order to find something you will be completely happy with.
For people looking purely for something that looks good, well, that is completely subjective. After all one man's Hog is another man's piglet. Price may also come in to play for this type of buyer, style is allot like speed, how much you want inevitably decides your bottom line. Big flashy bikes certainly look great sitting at the curb however driving them can be a lesson in masochism and your chiropractor may love you for making such a choice.
For the speed demons of the world, not much will hold a candle to a sleek Japanese built crotch rocket. These little devils are built with one purpose in mind, neck-snapping acceleration. One should definitely know there own riding skills and personal tendencies before throwing a leg over any of these babies. After all speed kills, how fast do you want to die? There is, however, a certain thrill just in knowing that for the price of a Kia, you can have the speed of a Porsche between your legs.
Then there are those who simply wish to feel the wind blowing on their face while cruising unrestricted and free along the country's back roads. For these people nothing is better than listening to the rumble of the motor as the world spins past and a cruiser style bike or a touring bike will usually fit the bill nicely. For cross-country trips, a touring bike will provide comfort and stowage for those long stretches of highway in between your stop for the evening. A cruiser style bike can be nice if looks take a more important role in your decision and if you are willing to sacrifice some comfort and storage capacity.
There is now a new market segment that reaches out to people who like the stability of a car and the open-air experience of a motorcycle. There is the Can-Am Spyder, which reminds me of a snowmobile on wheels, and then there is the Campagna T-Rex, which is a side-by-side two-seater. Both vehicles are three wheelers, but two wheels are in front and a single wheel is in the rear which gives them super-car like handling as opposed to the old three wheeled ATVs with one wheel in front and two in the back which were abandoned by manufacturers due to their tendency to flip over. These new hybrid motorcycle car things are indeed interesting to look at but also offer stowage and performance.
While the perfect motorcycle may not exist on paper, there are those who are completely in love with the bikes they have chosen and it's all because they took the time to research and try until they found the one that is perfect for them. We can only wish choosing a life partner were so easy. At least if you make the wrong decisions with choosing your bike the opportunity to trade it in is available to you at much less cost than trading in a spouse.
