Celebrations
"New Year's Eve" happens to be time for people to think about the events of the past year and hope for a better year for themselves, their friends and their family. The near end of a truly successful year brings hope that the next year will be just as successful.
There are those who might have had a terrible year, money wise, job wise, romance wise and/or health wise. They usually resolve not to make the same mistakes that spoiled the year that will soon come to an end. So, there are two main groups pf people that will celebrate the coming of the next year. Those who want to improve their life situation and those who seek to remain successful and get even richer than they were during the past year.
As such, it is stupid to believe that people who are able to consume booze, be it beer, wine and/or hard liquor, will not have one or more such libations during the "New Year's Eve Celebration." Getting rip-roaring drunk might be fun but there is a price to pay for such enjoyment, that we know as having a hangover the next day.
Yup! Those who have had that experience are not as eager to have another such experience the following year. There really are many other things to do besides having one booze filled drink after another booze filled drink. People can play music and dance with a loved one, as well as friends and family members. You and your friends and family can also watch the "New Year's Eve Celebration" that will surely be televised from Time Square in the City of New York within the United States of America, as well as in other countries on Earth.
You can also have a "New Year's Eve Party" that includes a dinner, other treats and refreshments. Various board games and parlor games are fun too. The point here is that you want to provide several kinds of entertainment for the people who will attend your party.
As busy as you will be you will not have time to get rip-roaring drunk because you will be serving drinks and snacks to other people who might get stinking drunk if you allow them to do so. You want everyone to return to their home safely so you see to it that none of your guests do get stinking drunk. All you have to do is close the bar, so to speak, for an hour or two before you make the next round of drinks.
If someone objects and demands another drink you can explain to that person that you are not a rich man who can afford to buy a whole lot of expensive booze. You were just trying to save some of that expensive booze for later in the evening. You can also say that you were hoping that some of your guests would bring some booze as a party gift for the host, in which case you could also serve that as well.
You can also say that the next time that you come to one of my parties you can bring your own booze and drink as much as you like, even if you have to take a cab home because you will be too drunk to drive home safely. Then again, you could stay home that evening and go to bed at your usual time to do so. After all, December 31 of whatever year it might be is just another day, knowing full well that the next day you will not have to go to work.
