Business Degrees Job Outlook Business

In the troubled economic times that the U.S. is facing many recent and soon-to-be graduates are understandably concerned with the job market they are faced with. A college degree is a necessity in today's job market. However. the type of degree one pursues is just as important as pursuing one in general. Some degrees give students a specific skill set that send them down a narrow career path while others allow for a broad range of skills to propel the student into a diversified job market. A bachelor's degree in business is the latter, and that is incredibly promising for the increasingly competitive job market.

A college degree in business offers students a variety of job options. Business degrees are accepted and desired in several business sectors including finance, marketing, advertising, accounting, sales and public relations.

The job outlook on a business degree will depend, almost entirely, on the sector in which a student wishes to work, but several sectors have solid job outlooks that appear to be rapidly expanding according to the U.S Department of Labor.

Financial analysis has the most promise according to the U.S. Department of labor. Financial analysts are commonly employed in the banking sector and rapid growth in the field is expected through the next six years. It is expected that job opportunities will be proportionate to applicants. Advertising and marketing also have solid job prospects for recent graduates. While there are degrees that are specific to such fields business degrees are often accepted. Statistics show that both sectors will have rapid growth for the next decade and recent graduates with internet marketing and computer knowledge will have a noted advantage in the job market.

The auditing and accounting market, both sectors that accept and desire business degrees, are notoriously solid industries and the job market reflects that. Rapid growth is not imminent, however the market is strong enough for applicants to feel secure in their decision to pursue the field.

While many sectors remain strong there are a number that have been swayed and injured by the recent economic downfall. Those who wish to find work in the stock market will have a difficult time. Stock broker or security sales agent jobs have always highly competitive and with the recent decline of the stock market many business are tightening the belt on new hires. While the market may turn at any given time, as the market tends to do, the job market remains soft in this sector and likely will for sometime while companies recoup from the recent stock market debacle.

Overall the job market is strong for business graduates and it remains so manly because business degrees are very versatile. Future graduates holding business degrees will be afforded the luxury of applying in a number of different sectors, raising the chances of landing the dream-job or in today's market one that will, at the very least, pay the bills.
