Best way to Wrap a Gift without Wrapping Paper

From 3arf

You don’t necessarily have to have wrapping paper to wrap a present. In fact, the entire present may be more appreciated and interesting if  the wrapper is part of the gift itself.1. Many items, whether they are clothing or home décor, include some article that may be used to enclose the rest of the gift. If the item is an article of clothing, enclose it in a decorative scarf. Bedding is easily enclosed by one of the sheets, or a pillow case. And, even boxes that may contain household or decorative items can be contained with a useful throw, table cloth, or tea towels. Add a ribbon and bow, and you have a beautiful package. Adding something that pertains to the gift along with the bow, such as a small kitchen utensil, or tea light tied onto the top of the gift, further adds to it’s usefulness.2. Gift bags are available in every size and style and for every occasion, but they don’t necessarily need to be the paper variety. Beach totes, book totes, and colorful shopping bags also make excellent useful gift wrappers. Not only will the recipient appreciate what’s inside, they will have the opportunity to use the “wrapper” as well.3. Plain brown cardboard boxes, glass canning jars, even paper bags can be used for wrapping. Cardboard boxes, plain brown shipping paper, and brown bags can be decorated by using rubber stamps or stencils, or simply by using the stickers, and recycled cards for a decoupage design. Glass containers, available in every size in hobby stores, or recycled from your canning cupboard, are excellent for containing homemade edible gifts, or small toys, ornaments, and even candles. Even plastic storage boxes make excellent gift holders and are an item that everyone can use in their home.4. For the man on your list who appreciates tools, what better wrapper than the tool box itself. These can be any size, and will house the gifts that you put inside for future use.5. Everyone loves boxes. They are decorative as well as useful. Put your special gift inside one of these boxes, or several of various sizes that can be stacked, and you have gifts that do double duty. The recipient will be able to continue to use the box for storage, or simply for decoration.Wrapping paper is beautiful and useful, but in the long run, it is thrown away. Using wrappers that are themselves useful, doubles the effect of your gift and puts everything to good use.
