Best Survey Sites for UK Residents
Ciao.co.uk is a review site that also offers paid surveys. You can choose to participate in either or both of these. However, personally, I have found of late that Ciao Surveys is rather a waste of time. Most of the surveys screen you out once they have already received plenty of information from you. The surveys are received rather erratically and the payment may be 2 pound for a survey or as low as 20 pence. Not worth the effort. However if you fit into one of the high category group whose opinions are desperately wanted you should fare better than me.
That is something to bear in mind. Your occupation, marital status, income and age group will determine just how valuable you are to a survey company.
Here are a few, other, good, on-line sites, in the UK, which concentrate on offering paid surveys to complete:-
valuedopinions.co.uk
Valued opinions pays its survey participants in gift vouchers their account has reached ten pounds. The vouchers are for reputable High Street stores and Charities. The recent crash of Woolworth's just shows though that it is no good saving these vouchers up to spend at, for example, Christmas. Woolworth's was one of the companies whose vouchers were available as payment for surveys. Of course these would be worthless now.
homeofresearch.com
Homeofresearch is an American site that offers free paid surveys to UK residents. The surveys here usually pay quite well and there is the occasional chance to participate in well paid on-line forums. The payment for forums is between 25 and 35 pounds for one to one and a half hours. The surveys vary in payment but are often about one pound. The surveys though are quick and easy to complete. Payment is by cheque once you have reached twenty pounds.
globaltestmarket.com
UK residents can earn a reasonable amount of money for surveys with global test market. What I like about globaltestmarket is that you receive a small payment, even if you are screened out of the survey. This will usually only be for about 20 pence or so but it will be for very little effort. Payment is again by cheque.
yougov.co.uk
Yougov pay out in cash in the form of a cheque once you reach fifty pounds. This sounds a lot of money and it will take quite a while to reach but it is a reputable site. The surveys are fairly interesting and a little different. You can boost your earnings, in order to reach a faster payout, if you refer friends and family, who ultimately become active members.
Lightspeed.com
Yet another on-line survey site that sends regular surveys and pays out quickly and easily. You can opt to receive gifts but I usually select the pay-pal option. At one time you could receive a pay-pal payout for as little as one pound but I think this has increased lately.
Ipsos
Ipsos was previously Mori polls and payment is by a High Street gift voucher. The payout is fairly quick and each survey can be from a couple of pounds to seven or eight pounds. Surveys will sometimes be sent to members of your family as well.
These six survey sites offer reasonable rewards. Depending which site you join you may receive shopping vouchers for stores such as Marks and Spencers or Argos, pay-pal money, goods or cash. What I can say about all of them is that they are all reliable, as I have received regular vouchers or cash from them with two exceptions.
Yougov's limit of 50 pound is still a fair way off. Also I have only just reached the level of points at Globaltestmarket which will allow me to cash out and so payment is pending. I do not know the conversion rate from points to cash and so will have to wait and see what I receive.
There are many more sites but you will find that you have no time to join them all. Overall all of these sites will not make you rich or enable you to retire but they will provide welcome extra cash from time to time. For all survey sites you will need to have an email address and possibly a pay-pal account. Some members find it useful to have a separate email address for their Internet 'work' as you can attract junk mail from time to time when you join these websites.
Pineconeresearch and TNS shopping both offer well paid surveys but are not open for everyone to join. Usually new members are referred by someone or contacted directly by the survey site. Both of these are worth joining though.
As a final point NEVER join a survey site that asks too much personal information or for a joining fee. If you do you could regret it.
